Last Weekend

I am so excited that it is the weekend!!!

But, first, last weekend...
My birthday was Tuesday so my Mom came up to hang out Saturday-Monday.

We tried out Butcher & Bee in downtown Charleston.
You can see my Grilled Cheese (with broccoli!) and my Mom's french toast here.
The food was good.  We had to sit outside because it was packed inside.  Very cute place.  I will definitely go back to try the Veggie Plate and other items on the menu.  My only complaint was that there was a long blonde hair wrapped around my pickle.  No, I didn't complain.. For some reason I am super observant and always manage to find things in my food. Sigh. So unless it's a big bug or something that looks like bodily fluids, I will usually not say anything.  Ha.

We all went to the Boone Hall Pumpkin Patch on Sunday.  The kids had a good time walking through the corn maze and petting the animals in the petting zoo.
Here's me and the husband:
Can you tell that my eyes are closed?!  Haha someone insisted we take the picture facing the sun.

I don't think I've mentioned it on here, but we adopted a puppy from a local shelter a few weeks ago.  Her name is Bailey and she is the sweetest lab mix evvvver.  Here she was the other day cruising in my son's booster seat:
She is a nut!

Anyway. Back to the weekend.  We stopped by Trader Joe's and got these:
Yes, I've already eaten almost all of the top row.  They are sooo good.

My mom made me a German Chocolate cake for my birthday so I've pretty much been eating that for breakfast all week.  I didn't do anything exciting for the birthday because my son had football practice and my husband had to work.  I did get some gift cards and a couple of things from J.Crew though so it was a nice day :)  I am def looking forward to some shopping!!

Speaking of shopping, I have almost had my hands on this scarf TWICE now.
So depressing.  Lol. I like a challenge though so I might be stalking Target's site every few hours to see if it is back in stock either online or at a local store. ;)

What are y'all up to this weekend?  We have my son's last football game (thank goodness, this season has been a beating) on Saturday.  Hopefully we can get downtown and try out another restaurant since the weather is going to be nice!

Hope y'all have a safe and fun weekend!!

Exploring Charleston #2 - Ro Sham Beaux and O'Hara & Flynn

Happy Monday!

On Friday, I stopped in Ro Sham Beaux on Broad Street.  They have so many amazing things in there:

I then walked over to Waterfront Park.  It was a grey day out but the temps were fantastic and hardly anyone was around yet.  This is one of my favorite parts of the park, right near the Pineapple Fountain:
Friday night, my kids were at my Dad's so my husband and I tried out O'Hara & Flynn Wine Bar.

I should have taken more pics but the lights are dim and it's definitely more of a romantic mood so I didn't want to be taking pics with flash.  In the picture above is the Bruschetta with avocado.  It is SOOOO good.  We also tried the House-made Hummus (we liked it but not the roasted red peppers), the Apple Brie Plate (very good), the Coffee Ice Cream (delish).
I would definitely go back again.  It is small and intimate (about 5 tables and then some seats at the bar) - perfect for date night.

Saturday my son had his flag football game and the rest of the weekend we spent hanging out around the house.

Also, if you're interested in giveaways, here are two ending soon that have some fab prizes:

Pushover Plunge and Julian Edelman

Good Morning!!

I have to share these two videos.  The first one, is NSFW as there is a TON of bad language, but oh my goodness it is so funny.  I was laughing so hard that I was crying.

This next one: ohhh emmm geeee.
I am a huge Patriots fan so when I saw the link for this pop up last night I clicked on it like every big fan does... but ladies, seriously, Julian Edelman is your new man crush. Holy crap.

Enjoy :)

Old Navy Wants

*This is NOT a sponsored post.  I just am liking what I'm seeing.*

Happy Friday, y'all!
My kids are at my Dad's for the night and my husband is sleeping (the joys of working mids) so my Friday night has been all about doing laundry, playing on the computer and watching Candidly Nicole.

I came across some super cute things on Old Navy and thought I'd share since a lot of it is on sale for Labor Day ($6 shirts!!):

What are you loving right now at Old Navy??

Also..
Anyone know how to make my pictures larger on blogger?  I did this collage through picmonkey but anything I upload is soo small.  HELP!!

Hope everyone have a safe and happy holiday weekend!

Washington, D.C. Trip

A few weeks ago, we took a trip up to Washington, D.C.  It was the first time my husband and kids had been so it was a lot of fun to show them all the monuments.  I also got to explore parts of the city that I hadn't been to, such a Georgetown.  I'm anxious to go back and see even more as it is impossible to see everything in a few days!

Our first stop was Arlington National Cemetery.  We are a former military family so this was a must.
We also went to Mount Vernon.  I am kicking myself for not taking the National Treasure: Book of Secrets tour.  Next time!
We visited the National Zoo which is free...you just have to pay $22 to park. The pandas are so cute though.  The little one sleeping in the upper right hand corner just celebrated its 1st birthday.
We went to Georgetown Cupcakes.  My daughter met Sophie there and got her pic/autograph.  She was pretty excited.
Saw these at Dean & DeLuca. I had to stop in there to get a coffee (any Felicity fans out there?!).  I was surprised that it wasn't just a coffee shop.  Neat place and would be great for picking up meals/snacks.
We also stopped by the White House.  There were a lot of protestors outside and law enforcement.  A large delegation of African dignitaries were also in town at the time of our trip, so it was cool seeing all the police-led motorcades speeding around.

We visited numerous other places on our trip.  There was lots and lots of walking!!

Have you been to D.C.?  What are your favorite places to visit?

Have a great week!

P.S.  Check out the Kendra Scott Rayne necklace giveaway on That Sports Girl. Also, check out all the great Game Day ideas for the upcoming football season.  If you're in the DFW area there are tons of ideas for local schools, including UNT and SMU!
*I received extra entries for mentioning this giveaway on my blog*

Summer TV

While I may be counting the days until Scandal, Castle and Brooklyn Nine Nine return to TV, I have still managed to find some shows to get hooked on this summer.  Here's what I'm watching:

The Bachelorette

I have read all of Reality Steve's spoilers but I still gotta watch.  Guilty pleasure!

 RHOOC

I finally got caught up on Housewives yesterday.  It's painful to watch Shannon.  I like former Miss Kentucky, Lizzie, a lot but she probably doesn't have enough drama to stick around for long.

Catfish
Okay, my husband totally makes fun of me for watching this show...but then I look over and he's all into it (just like Bravo's Southern Charm... mmmhhmm).  I got hooked on this show awhile back because I totally have an online friend...  Y'all...we "met" when we were 17-18 through his college roommate, who I was dating...  Josh would let Dale use his AOL instant messenger to talk to me (lol). Despite living 4 hours apart back then, we never got around to meeting each other.  This year we both turn 35.  We have stayed in touch all of these years through occasional texting and now on Facebook.  Crazy, right?!

Master Chef
I love Gordon Ramsay.  Love, love, love.  I really enjoy this show because I suck at cooking.  I tend to learn something every time I'm watching...  I'm also hoping Master Chef Junior starts up right after this one ends, like last year.
This show makes me cry every time.  Chris and Heidi Powell are doing some awesome stuff here.  I like to think that somewhere, someone sees that they can transform too...not just physically but mentally.  Last night's show was an emotional one.  I love that Chris and Heidi are so invested in the people they are training.  They seem like they really care.
Can you tell I'm all about the "reality" shows??  Hey, it's summer! :P
What are you watching?

Exploring Charleston #1

We have been living in Charleston for a little over a year now but have not even begun to really explore the city.  There are so many places I want to visit and restaurants I want to try.  My mom was in town this weekend so we did a little walking around and tried two places on my to-go list.

We happened upon the Cathedral of St. John the Baptist while walking around.  My kids said it was 'creepy'. I thought it was very interesting and the stained glass was pretty amazing.
I always see some of my fav Charleston area bloggers posting pics on Insta from Kitchen 208 on King St.  Finally got to try it.  There was a loong wait for food but it was pretty good. I had the Turkey Shoot.

We then headed up King Street to try Christophe Chocolatier which located off King on Society.  We tried the Opera Cake:
and several macaron.  The one below is coconut.  It was delish.
What are your favorite restaurants in Charleston?!  Anyone know of any good Mexican or Tex-Mex restaurants here??

Sunday Social

1. How much time do you spend on Social Media a day?…be honest

Maybe an hour a day?  I loooove Instagram so I'll scroll through that a few times a day when I'm waiting in the school pick-up line.  I also spend a little bit of time tweeting giveaways because you can't win if you don't enter! :)

2. How long were you reading blogs before you started a blog?

Not very long. My friend Tasha introduced me to a couple of blogs and then asked if I wanted to start one with her.  Thus this blog was originally called Pink and Green Moms.  Tasha moved on to other websites and projects and I have sort of kept this one up.

3. What is your favorite kind of cupcake?
I love the Miss Princess cupcakes at Gigi's....I pretty much love all cupcakes though.

4. Do you eat fast food? If so, what is your favorite?
Heck yes, I love some fast food. Especially the #1 at Wendy's.
5. What is the most random thing someone would find in your purse?
Outlet plug covers.
They've been in there since we moved to our house several months ago. I ran around on the last day in our apartment and took them all out and just threw them in my purse.

6. What is the weirdest TV show you watch?
I don't think I watch any "weird" shows but I have been accused of being an old lady because for years I have watched:
every Monday-Friday. Can't miss Pat, Vanna and Alex!

Don't forget to link up here for Sunday Social!

This Weeks Questions:
1. What is your favorite outfit pin?

I love this outfit Olivia Palermo is wearing.  It is a perfect everyday outfit! To follow my Olivia board, click here!

2. What is your favorite food pin?
This Pina Colada dip from ValsoCal is the shiiiiizzznit.  Find it here!

3. What is your favorite wedding pin?

I've never pinned anything for a wedding...mainly because, I got married before Pinterest was cool and I never had a fancy wedding. My husband was in the military so we did a quick ceremony at the court house!

4.  What is your favorite DIY/craft pin?
Someday I will do this to my bathroom...and maybe my kitchen! It looks like such an easy and inexpensive project! Find the pin here!

5. What is your favorite quote/verse/lyric pin?

This always cracks me up because my Field Training Officer always used to say, "Don't look at me in that tone of voice" whenever I'd give him one of my infamous looks.

6. Share one more random pin you love.

I recently pinned this Sloane Ranger crossbody...  Isn't it the cutest?!

If you'd like to check out my Pinterest, you can find me here!
