Exploring Charleston #3

As I mentioned in my last post, my in-laws were here last week so when it wasn't raining, we were able to get out and do a couple of touristy things.

Our first stop was the Charleston Tea Plantation. I had heard about the plantation but kept forgetting about it until Meg wrote about it back in February.
We took the 15 minute factory tour and learned quite a bit about how tea is made. It was actually pretty interesting.
My in-laws and husband love tea so they enjoyed all the free samples available in the gift shop.
I tried some tea (I don't like tea so everyone was super proud of me) but spent most of my time walking around looking at all the cute stuff to buy.
Loving all this nautical stuff:

We also got a pic with the frog out front:
We ended up not taking the trolley tour around the plantation and instead headed to Angel Oak since my husband had never been (took in-laws on previous trip).
Angel Oak is amazing and a picture definitely does not do it justice. You just have to see it in person to appreciate it!

On a side note, that jacket I'm wearing above is sooo cute.
I think it might be sold out now but I snagged it on sale last week for $15.

My son's birthday was on Saturday. All of his grandparents were in town so we loaded up three cars and headed paintballing at Paintball Charleston.

We did the low impact paintballs because it was recommended for younger kids... Those suckers sting so I can only imagine how the bigger paintballs feel coming at you faster.  We all had a blast though. If you ever go, I highly recommend doing a private party and taking 10 or so people.  The recreational paintballing was so packed! And if you're going with guys, tell them to wear a cup! HA!

The rest of the weekend, we took it easy.
Played some cards with the family (and cat).
 Ate at Newk's
 Sunday's rainy OOTD
Visited Charleston Bakery and munched on danishes and this new muffin they had :)

Hope y'all had a great weekend and are enjoying your week so far!

  1. Yay I'm glad you finally made it to the plantation - I SO wished I could have taken home every tea cup there :) Mike would love paintballing, so we might need to check that out, too. And omg the cat playing cards picture is the cutest!
