Jacksonville Trip Part 2

Check out part one here!

After we celebrated our kickball win, I spent a day running errands with the husband before heading back to Jacksonville for the weekend.

Our first stop was a Jacksonville Suns minor league baseball game.
This was our first time and it was great!
We had awesome seats that only cost $13 each.
Friday night games end with fireworks

While the Suns did not win, it was still a great game. The stadium is really nice and I'd definitely go again when I'm in town.

The next day we headed downtown to Hemming Park.

We then walked over to Sweet Pete's candy shop which is on the outskirts of the park.

This place was huge. It had tons of candy, a restaurant and a whole level for events/birthday parties. My kids enjoyed running around looking at all the goodies and the decorations.

Have you ever been to Jacksonville, FL? What are some of your favorite places to go?

Jax, FL (Part 1) and Kickball

I've spent the last week traveling back and forth between SC and FL. My mom always takes a week off during the summer so my kids can come down and hang out with her. Since my husband was working, I spent the first part of the week with them.

My mom had a list of restaurants she wanted to check out that she found via Southern Living magazine so our first stop was Tres Leches Eatery.
I ordered the Quinoa Salad.
I had never had quinoa before. It was not bad. The salad tasted very olive-y which would be great for someone who loved olives (me, not so much).
We shared a couple of cakes after our meals. They were fantastic.
We also took a tour of the Anheuser-Busch brewery in Jacksonville.
You can take paid guided tours or take a free self-guided one. We opted for the free.
It starts off in this room...it was so incredibly hot in there!
After learning about the history of the company, we eventually made our way into the area where you could watch the bottles being filled, labeled and put into cartons. Machines are amazing!

The next day we headed out to the beach to walk around.
It was National Wear Your Lilly day so my daughter and I were representing :)

We then headed over to St Johns Town Center to shop.
We come here at least once every trip down to Jacksonville. It is such a great shopping center. I wish we had this in Charleston!

On Monday, we headed down to a part of Jacksonville called Avondale.
It has a cute little row of shops and restaurants.
We ate at Biscottis.
I ordered the Goat Cheese Salad. My friend described the pumpkin seed crusted goat cheese as "moldy biscuits" but I promise it didn't taste like that - it was quite good!
The next day, I headed back to Charleston for our last kickball game of the season. My husband and I really enjoyed playing in the league for the first time. Thanks to Meg and her husband for letting us play!
We won 10-6 and celebrated after at Charleston Sports Pub.
 Our awesome team
 Me and and my husband
They have an amazing menu. I tried the beer battered grilled cheese (minus the bacon) and it was so freaking good.

Part two coming tomorrow :)

Hope y'all have a great weekend!

Linking up with Biana :)
